Latest Updates from Our Project:

The Votes must go through!

Now we pride ourselves on keeping backers updated, in the loop, savvy, etc. For us it helps the project go a lot smoother and gives people a solid idea of what they’re buying in to.

There is however one part, well, two actually, of this campaign that we’ve never talked about. For no other reason except that it keeps on getting pushed back by other news. It’s curious, as you guys are normally ravenous for this kind of thing! So without more of a delay; here’s how the two KS exclusive elements work: The Pony Express and the Dynamite token.

The Pony Express is a character but doesn’t work exactly like the others. They start off the board, near the reserve. For an action, one player can decide to discard one of their other characters (except the Governor, Hitman and Sheriff of course) and take the Pony express instead. Only one player can have the Pony Express Character during a game and once the swap is made it can’t be changed back!

So what does she do? Almost nothing, in fact. All she can do is move, no looking at other tokens or taking them. Her purpose is therefore, of course, in her ability. Once per game you can reveal her in order to gain a “free” vote token. The catch? Your governor has to be adjacent to her and reveal themselves in order to receive it.

This opens up your governor to a lot of danger if you don’t close the game immediately but, if you can, being one up on votes for all intents and purposes can allow you to get a “Good” win out if, as per usual, you can set it up!

The Dynamite Token is a bit more of a precautionary mechanism. It tones down the “boy who cried vote” tactic by making the potential consequences rather…explosive.

If you reveal a Dynamite token (ie. to both players) then it explodes and kills the character that revealed it! This leaves a hole in your line that you must fill with a normal move using a character from your saloon. It goes without saying that if it’s your Governor that goes up in smoke well, tiny pieces of what used to be a person can’t be president…I think they say that at least.

This makes the risk of revealing random tokens a lot greater! It also opens up more strategic options for you too!

So there you go ladies and gents, some more tactics, dirty tricks and replayability to add to the roster! We’ve enlarged the scope of characters a lot since the start of the campaign and I hope they all give you many hours of deceitful duelling!
